If you own a tumble dryer or condenser dryer made by the list of companies below then you should just check out whether that appliance needs a safety modification to negate the possibility of a fire in your appliance.

Indesit – Hotpoint – Creda

The story has been making national news for a few weeks now with Philip Schofield’s heated debate demanding answers from the chiefs at Whirlpool on This Morning and on BBC News another national news item about the lengthy delays people have waiting for the repairs.

The good news is that in the Jersey you can call your local repair agent directly who will come and fix the appliance – probably within a couple of weeks.

Owners of large air-vented dryers and condensing dryers under the Hotpoint, Indesit and Creda brands may need to have them fixed. Indesit said that excess fluff could catch the heating element in the machine and cause a fire. It is recalling many dryers bought between April 2004 and October 2015.

The company said that the tumble dryers could still be used but should not if they were left unattended.

Don’t be too worried – the repairs are normally fairly routine – and will cost you nothing.
